Robert M. Montgomery

Robert “Bob” Michael Montgomery, 66, a resident of Fergus Falls, formerly of Buena Park, CA, died Sunday, May 21, 2017 at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Fergus Falls.

Bob was born on September 5, 1950, in Los Angeles, CA, the son of Ulus and Carmen (Castilla) Montgomery. He graduated from Lancaster High School in 1968 and went on to attend San Bernardino State University graduating in 1975.

Bob entered the United States Army in 1970 and served in Vietnam as a convoy driver. He was honorably discharged in 1973.

On July 6, 1974, he married Nicolette Uselman in San Bernardino, CA.
Bob was an accountant, working for Northrop/Grumman as an Accounts Payable Manager. He was employed for 20 years and retired in 2001.
He entered the Minnesota Veteran’s Home on October 31, 2013.
Some of Bob’s favorite hobbies were fishing, gardening, wood-refinishing, hunting, and auto-mechanics. He was a handyman around his home and also enjoyed serving as a Boy Scout Leader and coaching baseball.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Ulus and Carmen.

He is survived by his wife Nicolette Montgomery of California and Wadena; children Eric (Rebecca) Montgomery of Oakdale, CA, Michael Montgomery of Buena Park, CA, Richard (Piroja) Montgomery of Brea, CA, and Phillip Montgomery of Buena Park, CA; and grandchildren Jenna (Josh) Dieleman, Jake Slayter and, Sophia Montgomery; sister Kathy Montgomery of Paso Robles, CA.

Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the funeral home
Service: 11:00 AM Friday, June 9, 2017 at Olson Funeral Home Chapel, Fergus Falls, Minnesota
Clergy: Father Aaron Kuhn
Military Participation: Fergus Falls V. F.W. Post 612 and American Legion Post 30
Burial: St. Ann's Cemetery, Wadena, Minnesota
