Roald Waldemar Bjornaas

Roald Waldemar Bjornaas, 85, a resident of rural Underwood, died Saturday, April 9, 2016, surrounded by his family.

Roald was born on April 10, 1930, to Peder and Martha (Kittelson) Bjornaas in Sverdrup Township, near Underwood, MN. He attended country school and graduated from Underwood High School. After high school, Roald continued to live on the family farm, where he cared for his parents and farmed.

Roald loved to hunt, fish and always enjoyed a hand of whist. He was a regular member of the coffee club which met at the café in Underwood. He enjoyed his daily hikes in the woods.

Roald enjoyed being a part of his nieces and nephews lives and always enjoyed his conversations with them. He had many, many friends and enjoyed the companionship of his cats.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Peder and Martha Bjornaas; a brother, Orval Bjornaas; and a special friend, Della Leitch.

Roald is survived by his sister, Eline Berg of Fargo; a niece, Pamela (Bruce) Bernstein of Fargo; and nephews, Lon (Dureen) Berg of Tuscon, AZ and Eric (Christy Delaney) Berg of Springfield, IL.
