Richard Leon Wright, 65, of Brookline, Massachusetts, and formerly of Fergus Falls, died Friday, August 17, 2012, in Massachusetts. He was born October 14, 1946, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, the son of Irving J. and Marjorie (Hill) Wright. He attended public school in Fergus Falls, graduating from Fergus Falls High School in 1965. He completed his education at Moorhead State College. While in Fergus Falls, Richard was active with the Boy Scouts and received the Woodbadge award for his leadership. Richard enjoyed hiking, canoeing, fishing, kayaking, and camping, and made several trips to the Boundary Waters and Quetico wilderness areas. In August of 2001 he married Myrna Robbins in San Diego, California. Later they moved to the Boston, Massachusetts area, and made their home in Brookline where Richard was a maintenance person at a senior care facility. Preceding him in death were his parents, Irving and Marjorie Wright. Richard is survived by his wife, Myrna, of Boston; his brother, John H. (Linda) Wright of Erhard, MN; and nephews, Matthew (Kathryn) Wright of Atascocita, TX, and Mitchell (Leslie) Wright of Fergus Falls. Memorials are preferred to the Salvation Army or the Food Shelf.
