Richard Wallace, 65, of Wahpeton, died Monday, September 23, 2019, at Sanford on Broadway in Fargo.
Richard Lee Wallace was born August 20, 1954, to Hubert and Pauline (Lachowitzer) Wallace in Perham. He grew up in Henning and graduated from Henning High School in 1972. He worked with his father in the road construction.
In 1974, he married Cheryl Whitney. They moved to Wahpeton in 1976 and there he was employed by Wil-Rich for 20 years. He also worked at Minn-Dak, Primewood, and 3M. He retired when he was 58, due to health concerns.
Richard loved fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, gun collecting, and coin collecting.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hubert Wallace; mother, Pauline (Lachowitzer) Wallace; sister-in-law, Erma (Frier) Wallace; brother, David Wallace (Cindy Hanson), and daughter, Sue Ann Marie Wallace.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Teslow of Fergus Falls; his son, Steve Wallace of Valley City, ND; his former wife, Cheryl Bock of Fergus Falls; brother, Gerald Wallace of Campbell; sister, Ilene Drewlow of Wahpeton; brother, Gary (Shirley) Wallace of Battle Lake; granddaughter, Krista Rensvold of Breckenridge, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
There will be a Celebration of Life from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2019, at the Fergus Falls VFW.
