Richard "Rick" Stras

Richard Carl “Rick” Stras, 68, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Friday, April 8, 2016 at Lake Region Healthcare, surrounded by friends and family.
Rick was born September 12, 1947, in Minneapolis, MN, the son of Orville and Mildred G. (Knudson) Stras.
He was baptized May 2, 1948, in Waubun, MN and confirmed at Tingvold Lutheran Church, Underwood, MN on June 17, 1962.
He entered the Army after high school and continued this career for 20 years, retiring on November 13, 1987. After military retirement, he worked for Larson Implement in Wheaton, Dave Otte in Fargo, Interstate Service in Fergus Falls and retired April 4, 2008, as Assistant Manager at M & H Gas in Fergus Falls.
His first marriage was blessed with two daughters, Lori and Dawn. On March 12, 2004, he married Sharon Odegard and they made their home by Wall Lake in Fergus Falls.
Rick is survived by his loving wife, Sharon; his daughters, Lori (Joe) Benson of Park Rapids, and Dawn Stras of Wadena, MN. Also surviving are his mother, Mildred G. Stras, of Fergus Falls; five grandchildren, six great –grandchildren ; his sister, Penny Stras of Overbrook, KS; his brothers, Jim Stras of Battle Lake and Mike Stras (LuRae Melaas) of Underwood, MN.
Preceding him in death was his father Orville Stras; grandparents, Oscar and Helga Stras and Carl and Julia Knudson.
