Richard "Dick" Henkes

Richard “Dick” Henkes, 63, of Dalton, died Sunday, June 30, 2019 at Sanford in Fargo, ND.

Dick was born September 20, 1955, in Fergus Falls to Fritz and Laural (Kohlhase) Henkes.

In 1974 he graduated from Fergus Falls High School and served 4 years in the U.S. Airforce. He continued his education at Pine Technical Institute for gunsmithing and spent his life working as a gunsmith.

Dick was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing any chance he could. One of his favorite pastimes was going up North to the deer cabin. When he wasn’t spending time outdoors, you could find him with family or with one of his many friends, or in the kitchen cooking or baking.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fritz and Laural Henkes; brother, Mike and an infant sister, Jane.

Richard is survived by his children, Taylor Henkes, Tina (Ben) Greene; grandchildren, Allison and Ryder Greene; brothers, Chuck (Dawn), Bill (Kay) and his loving dog, Molly.
