Reuben V. Ostlund, 88, of Fergus Falls, formerly of Rothsay, died Friday, March 18, 2011 at Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls. Reuben was born on the family farm near Rothsay on December 9, 1922, the son of Ole and Anna (Rudh) Ostlund. He attended country school, District No. 82. Reuben was a life-long member of Hamar Lutheran Church and a former member of the Eagle’s Aerie No. 2339 of Fergus Falls. On November 15, 1952, Rueben married Marilyn Baumgartner at the Hamar church parsonage. They made their home in rural Rothsay until retirement, moving to Fergus Falls in 1989. He had many fond memories of farming with his brothers. Survivors are his wife, Marilyn, sons, Jeff of Fergus Falls and Mark (Becky Johnson) of Moorhead. Grandchildren include: Jenny and her fiancé (Ian Schmidt), Torey and his fiancée (Kayla Verhulst) and Aaron Ostlund. Also surviving are great-grandchildren Addison and Brayden Ostlund, step-grandchildren Nate (Alison) and Ryan (Joanna) Prosser and their children Elise, Siri, and Baron. Reuben is also survived by a brother, Ole (Doris) of Barnesville, and a sister-in law, Lorraine Ostlund of Rothsay. Preceding him in death were his parents, 4 sisters, 5 brothers, 2 infant brothers. Visitation: One hour prior to the services at the church. Service: 2:00 pm Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at New Life Lutheran Church, Rothsay. Memorials are preferred to the NLLC. Clergy: Rev.
