Rena M. (Lydeen) Morical, 96, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Tuesday, August 26, 2008, at the Sterling Park Healthcare Center in Waite Park, Minnesota. She was born October 25, 1911, in Foxhome, Minnesota, the daughter of Okko and Louise (Olson) Tjaden. They moved to Fergus Falls where Rena graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1929. Rena married Ronald F. Lydeen, and they lived in Fergus Falls most of their married life. They operated the Mt. Faith Grocery and then owned and operated the Fir Avenue Grocery from 1953 until the untimely drowning death of Ronald on November 7, 1956. Rena continued to own and operate the Fir Avenue Grocery by herself until she married Claude Morical in 1974. Rena and Claude ran the store until November of 1980. Claude died December 2, 1984. Preceding her in death were her parents, Okko and Louise; her husbands, Ronald and Claude; her sisters, Louella Kantrud, Mona Kern, and Belvia Connell; her brothers, Otto Tjaden and Fred Tjaden; and a grandson, Ronald H. Lydeen. Survivors include her son, Roger, who resides in St. Cloud with his wife, Patricia (LaValley); her sisters, Mae Holm of Fergus Falls, and Elaine Nelson of New London, MN; brothers: Dana Tjaden of San Diego, CA, Glen Tjaden of Omaha, NE, and Kenneth Tjaden of Minneapolis; three grandchildren: Lance Lydeen of Minneapolis, Eric Lydeen of Oregon, and Jill (Lydeen) Sederstrom of St. Cloud, MN; 11 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
