Rebecca Wedll

Rebecca “Becky” Lea Wedll, 73, of Fergus Falls, died Friday, October 13, 2023 at PioneerCare in Fergus Falls, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Rebecca Lea Homes was born May 7, 1950, in Fergus Falls, to Betty (Hanson) and Lyle Homes. She attended school in Fergus Falls, graduating in 1968.

On June 19, 1970, Becky married James Wedll at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Fergus Falls.
In 1971, the couple moved to California where their first two children, Kayla and Leah, were born. They moved back to Minnesota in 1981, where their son, Bryan was born.

She worked numerous jobs over the years, spending 27 years at Kmart and ending her career and retiring from Midwest Vision in 2020.

Becky enjoyed spending time with her family and her grandchildren were her joy. She was an avid reader and a master seamstress, loved playing BINGO and putting together puzzles, cross stitch, and shopping. (She was the master at finding a heck of a deal.)

Preceding her in death were her father, Lyle Homes; grandparents, Melvin and Clara Hanson and Joseph and Anna Homes; father and mother-in-law, Bernard and Ione Wedll; step-father, Roy Skramsted, and numerous aunts and uncles.

Becky is survived by her husband of 53 years, James Wedll of Fergus Falls; daughters, Kayla (Jason) Rightler of St. Bonifacius and Leah (Matthew) Rud of Fergus Falls; son, Bryan (Megan Schultz) Wedll of Fergus Falls; grandchildren, Kinley and Thatcher Rightler, Noah, Katelyn, Lucas, and Hannah Rud, and Edynn Schultz; mother, Betty Skramsted of Fergus Falls; sisters, Patricia (Ron) Harrison of Fergus Falls, Mary Homes of Erhard, and Ann (Jon) Gaustad of Underwood; aunt, LaVerne Hanson of Pelican Rapids, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation: 5-7 pm Friday October 20, 2023, with a prayer service at 6:30, at the funeral home and will continue one hour prior to the service
Service: 1 pm. Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Olson Funeral Home, Fergus Falls

Interment: Oak Grove Cemetery Fergus Falls
