Ramona Kumm

Ramona H. Kumm, 90, of Fergus Falls, died Thursday, October 19, 2023.

Ramona Helene Trosvig was born in Fergus Falls to Oscar and Lillian (Peterson) Trosvig on September 19, 1933.

A lifelong resident of Fergus Falls, she raised her family and served the community. She married Wilbur Boese, who passed in 1959. In 1961 she married Clarence Kumm.

Always one to be the head of the “entertainment committee”, Ramona enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and neighbors while galivanting around town. In her younger years she loved roller skating and dancing.

Ramona was known for bringing smiles to faces during the 25 years she worked in the dietary department at Lake Region Hospital.

She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren – leading cub scouts, playing baseball in the backyard, and sharing her favorite recipes in the kitchen. Always up for a competitive game of Trouble, she was ruthless, jokingly chanting “the winna, the winna” on her way to victory.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Oscar and Lillian Trosvig; husbands, Wilbur Boese and Clarence Kumm, and sisters, Lois Eggen, Helen Duenow, and Colleen Kumm.

Ramona is survived by her children, Brenda Boese, Jeffrey Kumm, and Jonathan Kumm; sister, Inez Norgren; grandchildren, Brandon (Katie) Rathert, Hannah Kumm, and Sydney Kumm, and five great-grandchildren, Estella, Sophie, Scarlett, and Sawyer Rathert, and Aiden Havisto.

All are giving “the finger” one last time as they remember her smile, her laughter, and love as we say goodbye.

Visitation: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls, with prayer service at 6:30 p.m.
