Phyllis J. Gadow, 83, of Fergus Falls, died Sunday, September 1, 2024 at home surrounded by her family.

Phyllis Joann Ellingson was born October 19, 1940 to Phillip and Viva (Loop) Ellingson in Dent, MN. She graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1958. After high school, she attended Wahpeton School of Science and earned her degree in accounting, graduating in 1960.

Over the years Phyllis was employed at S & L, JCPenney, First National Bank West as the Manager, and also worked at First National West Bank. 

On January 9, 1959, Phyllis married Leslie “Les” Gadow in Fergus Falls.

She was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, a member of the Eagles, and the Fergus Falls Fire Department Auxiliary.

Phyllis enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, and spending time with family and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Phillip and Viva Ellingson; sister, Irene Walker and Joyce (Butch) Polkinghorn, and brothers, Howard and Merle Ellingson.

Phyllis is survived by her husband, Les Gadow; children, Marty Gadow and Lori (Mike) Bussian; grandchildren, Paul Gadow, Adam Lerbakken, and Amber Lerbakken; great-grandchildren, Carter and Olivia Bernstetter and Lauriauna and Avery Lerbakken; brothers, Harold and Kenneth Ellingson; aunt, Lucille Harworth, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls with a visitation one-hour prior to the service at the Church.

Clergy: Reverend Christopher Lieske

Interment: Trinity Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls
