Phyllis Luella Cassel, 95, of Fergus Falls, died Saturday, May 18, 2013, at PioneerCare, Fergus Falls.
She was born October 15, 1917, in Fargo, ND, the daughter of Fred and Augusta (Flemme) Miller. She grew up and attended schools in Fergus Falls.
For 27 years, Phyllis was employed at the National Tea Packing Plant in Fergus Falls and later worked at Lake Region Hospital in the housekeeping department until her retirement.
She enjoyed sewing, the Minnesota Twins, scrabble and Charlie Brown and Friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents; a son, Danny; sisters, Rose Wilschewski, Loretta Jorgensen, Gertrude Formo and Bonnie Parker; a brother, Richard “Dick” Miller; a goddaughter, Penny (Formo) Muller; a son-in-law, Earl Eveland and four brothers-in-law.
Phyllis is survived by her daughters, Camilla “Cam” Eveland, of Fergus Falls, Mary (Vince) Hallock of Battle Lake and Susie (Darb) Allison of Fergus Falls; a son, Dave (Deb) Cassel of DelRay Beach, FL; grandchildren Mark (Chris) Eveland, Mike (Beth) Eveland, Dave (Donna) Eveland, Danny (Kristi) Hallock, Susanne Halverson, Susan, Mike, Kathy, Kelly and Kimberly Cassel; 13 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a sister Margaret Flatin of Pelican Rapids; numerous loving nieces and nephews and special family, Nancy and Floyd Barrett of Fergus Falls.
Visitation: 5-7 pm Wednesday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Thursday
Service: 11 am Thursday, May 23, 2013 at the Funeral Home Chapel
