Phil Peterson, age 68, sadly passed away in his home on Wednesday, April 12, 2023.
He was born June 15, 1954 to Clifford and Francis Peterson of Fergus Falls, MN. He graduated from Fergus Falls Senior High School in 1972. He also graduated from the University of North Dakota with a degree in accounting.
He worked at several companies in the Fergus Falls area including the Holiday Inn, Prime Wood and Medallion Kitchens, as an over the road truck driver, and most recently with Synstelien Community Services. He was also a fantastic bartender at Becker’s Supper Club.
His hobbies included tending to his Coleman Lantern collection, duck and goose hunting, deer hunting, stock car racing, going to concerts, playing softball and pool, darts, and broomball. But his biggest talent was being everyone’s friend and confidant.
Phil had one of the driest sense of humors you’d ever hear. He spoke slowly and with a low tone when telling a story or a joke. It made the punch lines even funnier. He also spoke his mind and would tell you you’re wrong if you were. But he’d do it in such a way that you’d listen and realize he was right. If you were his friend, you were a friend forever.
He lived his Life as a bachelor and had no children. Both his parents died long ago and had no brothers, or sisters, uncles or aunts. He was the last of his Peterson lineage that we know of. But he left a line of great friends that will miss him and will always remember him. Cheers to you, our friend.
