Pearl Marie Skelton, age 81, passed away at Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls, MN, on Friday, February 16, 2018.
She was born on January 5, 1937, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Pearl grew up in Cheyenne, graduated from high school and attended the University of Wyoming. She was united in marriage to Robert Skelton in 1956. They resided in Wyoming until 1973, when the family moved to Wahpeton, North Dakota.
Pearl worked in the lab at Minn-Dak Farmers Sugar Cooperative for many years until retiring due to ill health in 1988. She became a widow in 2015, but in spite of many health challenges, remained independently living in her own home until her passing.
She was a quiet person, but filled with charm, with and intelligence. She persevered through medical challenges with determination and will. Pearl was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be deeply missed. She cherished deep and loyal friendships.
She is survived by three sons and a daughter, Glen (Lizann) Skelton of Stillwater, Bruce (Debbie) Skelton of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, David (Joy) Skelton of Estero, Florida, and Susan (Dave) Uhren of Vining; and nine grandchildren, Sami, Cathleen, Michael, Jenny, Erik, Carol, Gretel, Keeler, and Spencer. Also surviving her are her dear friends, Cindy Wegener and Margie Basehore.
As per Pearl’s wishes, there will be no funeral, but a private family service will be held in the spring.
