Pauline Lorena (Peterson) Waasdorp of Fergus Falls died Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at the Ottertail Nursing Home following a seven-year struggle with her health. Pauline was born in Fergus Falls on August 9, 1934 to Alf and Lorena Peterson. She graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1952. She began working at the Fergus Falls State Hospital where she met and married the love of her life, John Waasdorp. They remained in Fergus Falls and continued to work for the state of Minnesota until their retirement. Pauline enjoyed fishing and traveling with her husband in their RV. She and John loved to take cruises, visit casinos, go out to dinner with other couples, and to spend time with friends and family. She was a wonderful cook and loved to indulge her family. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother, a Wednesday School teacher, and delivered meals on wheels. She wanted to be remembered as a kind, giving, funny and silly person who brought humor to others. She is survived by four of her five children: Ricky (Mandy) Waasdorp of Ottertail, Randy Waasdorp of Campo, CA, Cindy (Les) Martisko of Prior Lake, MN, and Julie Borges (Rick Garza) of Fergus Falls, ten grandchildren; Dawn, Trevor, Curt, Derek, Kelly, Breana, Amber, Allison, Tiana, and Ashley, and six great grandchildren. Additional survivors include sisters, Connie Sherwood and Marie Jacobson, brothers, Darvin, Norman, Charles, and Alvin Peterson, her mother, Lorena Peterson of Fergus Falls, and a special niece, Sherlee Waasdorp of Fergus Falls. Preceding her in death were her husband John (2001), her son Tim (1972), and her father Alf Peterson (1987). Memorial will begin Friday, May 14, 2010 at 12:00 at Grace United Methodist Church in Fergus Falls followed by a formal service at 1:00 p.m. Clergy: Pastor Robert Kandels Interment following service at Knollwood Memorial Gardens in Fergus Falls.
