Paul Bradley Wentzel, 61, of Fergus Falls, died Tuesday, September 15, 2015, at Fargo VA Medical Center following a courageous battle with cancer.
Paul was born on April 2, 1954 in Fergus Falls, the son of Arthur and Corinne (Peterson) Wentzel. He attended school in Fergus Falls and graduated from Fergus Falls in 1972. After high school he entered the United States Army and served in Berlin, Germany. He was honorably discharged after 3 years of service. Over the years he worked for Berlin Air Base Tempelhof Airport, MinnDak Farmers Coop, construction contractor with Wayne Johnson and most recently at Home Depot.
He was a life member of the Fergus Falls V. F. W. and Zion Lutheran church. He enjoyed working on cars, watching football, going to the lake, deer hunting, enjoying a beer with friends, playing horseshoes with his dad, writing poetry, of which one was published, and while living in Berlin, he liked walking 5Ks with his best friend, Jessica (his dog).
Preceding him in death were his parents, grandparents, sister-in-law Barb Wentzel, and aunt, Ruth Twete.
Survivors include his brother, Craig of Edmore, ND; two sisters, Cindy (Lee) Fronning of Fergus Falls, Kay Erickson of Comstock, MN, whom he shared a special bond, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and a special aunt, Lucille Eckhardt.
Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Friday, September 18, 2015 at the funeral home with a prayer service at 7 p.m. and resumes one hour prior to the service at the church.
Service: 1:30 p.m. Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls
