Paul Richard Van Wechel, 58, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Friday, November 25, 2016, at Lake Region Healthcare, Fergus Falls.
He was born in Fergus Falls, on November 30, 1957, one of five children of Gary and Joanne (Bullis) Van Wechel. He attended school in Fergus Falls, graduating in 1976.
On June 7, 1980, he married Mary Iversen and together they had two beautiful daughters, Samantha and Anna. On January 10, 2014, he married DeAnn Stock. Paul loved dirt, working most of his life as a bulldozer operator for many different companies, the most recent, SJ Louis out of Rockville, MN.
Paul was a very caring man. He would drop everything to help someone out. He was also a very handy person, who could fix anything. He didn’t like new things because he would just get them “dirty”.
He was a member of the Association of Harley Davidson Riders and the Local 49ers. He loved his two wheeled therapy.
His father, Gary, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, DeAnn of Fergus Falls; his daughters, Samantha Van Wechel-Meyer and her husband Derek and Anna Williams and her husband Kerron; a stepson, Riley Mollerud; his mother, Joanne Van Wechel - all of Fergus Falls; all of his siblings, Velma (Brian Schmitt) Bjorgum, Tim (Jan) Van Wechel, Tony (Kathy) Van Wechel and Robert (Sandy) Van Wechel; his father and mother-in-law, Donald and Patricia Stock and their children, JD, Jeff and Jim Stock and Denise DeMartelaere, as well as several nieces and nephews.
