Paul Stanley Fick, 51, a resident of rural Fergus Falls, died Tuesday, December 13, 2011, after a year long battle with cancer, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born August 20, 1960, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, the son of G. Stanley and Ardis (Gaustad) Fick. He grew up in Fergus Falls, graduating from Fergus Falls High School in 1978. He then attended St. Cloud Vocational School. On February 14, 1986, he married Julie Johnson. Together they had two sons, Doug and Andrew. He loved spending time with them, especially attending numerous sporting events, including baseball, hockey, and racing. Paul was employed as a press operator at Faith and Fellowship Press for 24 years, and at On Demand Graphic for one year. He then worked at Northern Contours from 2006 until November of 2011. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls, and belonged to the NRA. Paul enjoyed fishing, hunting, doing yard work, and going to concerts at the casino. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his grandsons, sons, and family and friends. His recent trip to Duluth with his grandsons will forever be cherished. He will forever be loved and greatly missed. Preceding him in death were his father, G. Stanley “Tubby”; his sister, Susan Taylor; his father-in-law, Joseph J. Johnson; and his grandparents. Survivors include his wife, Julie, of Fergus Falls; his children: Douglas (Nichole) Fick of Fergus Falls, and Andrew (Megan) Fick of Dent; his step-daughters: Amanda (Jeff) Hinrichs of Breckenridge, and Stacy Swiontek of Fergus Falls; his grandchildren: Eric and Tucker Fick of Fergus Falls, and step-grandson Lucas Hinrichs of Breckenridge; his mother, Ardis Fick of Fergus Falls; his sisters: Sherry (Robert) Marts of Wheaton, Janis (Bruce) Davis of Missoula, MT, and Kathy Mickelson of Missoula, MT; his mother-in-law, Audrey Thompson (Bill Fogard); his sisters-in-law: Tammy (Dana) Schroeder, Karla (Kevin) Swiontek, and Paula Krog (Curt Anderson); his brothers-in-law: Bruce (Shari) Johnson and Mark (Dawn) Johnson; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his dog, Jake.
