Paul Dennis

On Saturday, February 11, 2012, Paul Kevin Dennis died as a result of a head injury sustained while serving on a missions trip in Bleck, Haiti. He was 52. Paul was born on February 28, 1959, in Blakely, Pa., to Margaret Kreidler Dennis and David William Dennis. He married Lori (Lorelei) Flom on June 26, 1982, in Kankakee, Ill. He graduated from Central High School in Clifton, Ill. in 1977. He had worked as an air traffic controller with the FAA at Hector International Airport in Fargo, N.D. since 1987, and was a member of the National Air Traffic Controllers Association. Paul was a member of the Fergus Falls Church of the Nazarene in Fergus Falls, Minn., and had served as local and district president of Nazarene Missions International. He also served on the board of trustees for MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, Kan. His passion was living out Christ’s Great Commission found in Matthew 28:19. He traveled with the Work and Witness ministry of the Church of the Nazarene to serve with at least 10 different teams visiting 15 countries. He also had a love for aviation, sports, and playing games with his family. Paul is survived by his wife, Lori of Fargo; son Jeremy and wife Elizabeth of Olathe, Kan., and daughter Meghan Matt and husband Hunter of Overland Park, Kan.; as well as his mother, Margaret Dennis of Fargo. Other survivors include brother Stephen and wife Cari of Jacksonville, Fla.; sister Robin Krones and husband Michael of Clifton, Ill.; sister Bonnie Atlee of Milwaukee, Wisc.; and brother Richard of Sycamore, Ill. Visitation will be Sunday, February 19 from 5 to 7 pm, concluding with a prayer service at 6:30 pm. The funeral is scheduled for Monday, February 20, at 11 a.m. All services will be held at the Fergus Falls First Church of the Nazarene. Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls is in charge of arrangements. A memorial service was also held at the Bev Bullock & Paul Dennis Memorial Clinic in Bleck, Haiti, on February 11. A memorial fund has been established in Paul’s name to help fund future Work and Witness efforts.
