Patricia Ann “Patty” Pearson, 82, of Fergus Falls, passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2023.
Patty was born in Minneapolis, MN to Leonard and Bernice (Smedberg) Fitzpatrick in April 13, 1941. She graduated from Minneapolis South High School.
She married Wallace “Wally” Pearson on December 29, 1962, her husband and the love of her life. They moved to Fergus Falls from Ada, MN in 1966.
Patty had an infectious passion for life. Her family was her world. She was so proud of her three children, Keith, Kristi, and Kevin. Patty was very involved in their academics and athletics. She was a proud supporter of Otter activities. If anyone needed to find her, they would first check the pool or the gym.
She enjoyed traveling with Wally. They specifically liked traveling to all of the state basketball tournaments, which became a family event.
Patty also had a passion for videography and would always be seen with her camcorder at all of the athletic events, specifically recording her children during their extracurricular activities.
Patty enjoyed swimming and sharing her joy of the water with others. She was the pool director, lifeguard and taught lots of children and adults to swim at the YMCA.
Patty loved to cook and entertain. She was the queen of crockpot dinners, Sunday homemade pizzas, always loved an ice-cold beer, and we all know, she loved her time at the casinos.
As the boys, Wally, Keith and Kevin, anxiously awaited fishing and deer openers, she was making her own plans to go to the local casinos. She either won BIG or came out even.
Preceding her in death were her parents and her loving husband, Wally. Also, her sister-in-law, Lynne Fitzpatrick and nephews, Michael and Darrin Fitzpatrick.
Patty gave her love to and is survived by her three children, Keith (Michelle) Pearson, Kristi (Kenn) Edman, and Kevin (Jaime); nine grandchildren, Drew (Brianna), Ty, Nicolas, Seth, Sean, Lily (Noah), Paige, Luke, and Sarah; one great-grandson, Carter; brother, Terry Fitzpatrick, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Patty, your physical presence may be absent, but your spirit lives on. Your love continues to surround us and will continue to live in our hearts. Rest in peace. You will always be loved, always be missed, and forever remembered.
From Philippians 1:3 “I thank my God in all my remembrance of you.”
