Patricia Koch, 65, a resident of Ten Mile Lake, rural Dalton, died Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at her home.
She was born November 6, 1951 in Jamestown, ND to Fred and Valasta (Stepina) Krieger.
Pat attended Jamestown Elementary and Jamestown High School, graduating in 1969. She went to Jamestown College and earned a degree in Biology, as well as going on to earn her Master’s in Biology in 2002
On June 14, 1974 Patricia was united in marriage to Douglas Koch at Voorhees Chapel at Jamestown College.
Together, Pat and Doug owned Doug’s Amoco in Fergus Falls, and Pat’s Amoco in Alexandria. Doug’s Amoco was open from 1983-1996. Pat’s Amoco was open from 1990-1998. After the gas stations closed she began her teaching career as a professor at Alexandria Technical and Community College in 2000. She had planned on retiring in December 2017.
Pat was a member of the Barefoot Skiing UMBWSA (Upper Midwest Barefoot Water Ski Association), and Rock Prairie Lutheran Church.
Pat enjoyed pinochle with her college friends, gardening, and woodworking. She loved to help others, and spent a lot of time working on things for school. Most of all, she loved spending time and enjoying activities with her son, Derek.
Preceding her in death were her parents, and her husband, Doug in 2014.
Survivors include her son, Derek Koch of Dalton; brother and sister-in-law Dick and Judy Conroy and their children of Minneapolis, nephew, Rob Straka; and cousins, Mike and Dorothy Stepina of Starbuck.
