February 27, 1955 — April 19, 2009

Patricia Jeanne (Carpenter) Hovland, 54, a resident of Casper, WY, formerly of Rothsay,  beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, went home to Jesus on April 19, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family.      A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday April 25, 2009 at 11:00 am at Hilltop Celebration Church in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. Visitation will be held Friday from 5-7 with a prayer service at 6:30 pm at Olson Funeral Home Fergus Falls, MN.  Interment will be at North Friborg Cemetery, rural Rothsay.    Patricia “Pat” was born February 27, 1955, in Brainerd, MN to Benjamin and Patricia Carpenter. She graduated from Rothsay High School in 1973. She married David Hovland her high school sweetheart on January 6, 1973 in Rothsay. The happy couple lived there for a short time before moving to various towns in North Dakota and Wyoming due to David’s job with USDA. They made their latest home in Casper, Wyoming. Pat was a retired CNA and a loving homemaker who enjoyed taking care of her family. She also enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, riding horse, worshipping the Lord and most of all spending time with her family.    Pat and David worked together as a ministry team. She was involved in prayer team ministry with Lutheran Renewal and with their local church. She so loved praying for others and worshipping, praising, and giving glory to the Lord. She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed!    She is survived by her husband David of Casper, WY; five children: Heidi (Eric) Abrahamson of Montevideo, MN; Dan (Tatum) Hovland of Vincennes, IN; Holly (James) Knutson of West Fargo, ND; Mandy Hovland of Fargo, ND; Marcie (Nathan) Mitchell of North Pole, AK; sixteen wonderful grandchildren (soon to be 18); a sister Rebecca (LaVern) Gunderson of Glyndon, MN; an Uncle and Aunt, two sister in-laws, but sisters by heart, nieces, and nephews.                            ?      ?      ?      ?      ?    The Family of Patricia Jeanne Hovland gratefully acknowledges your many kind thoughts and expressions of sympathy during their time of loss.
