Patricia Gilberg

Patricia Gilberg, 83, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Wednesday, February 25, 2009, at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls.  Patti was born on March 16, 1925 to Dr. Julius and Florence (Cook) Theurer in Fergus Falls. She was baptized and later confirmed at Grace Methodist Church on Union Ave. in Fergus Falls. She graduated from Washington High School with the Class of 1944. Later she attended Fashion School in Minneapolis and worked at Young Quinlon Store for a year and a half. She returned to Fergus Falls and worked for her brother, Dr. Fritz Theurer at his Chiropractic office for five years. On November 8, 1950 she married Richard (Dick) Gilberg at Wheaton, Minnesota and continued to work for another five years with her brother. On May 18, 1955 their only child, Rolf was born. Patti worked at the Middle School as a teacher’s aide for nine years. In 1987 she retired and they moved to Bonita Springs, Florida. They returned to Minnesota in 1996. Dick died very unexpectedly on June 16, 1996 Patti was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church, Jobs Daughters and Cub Scouts. She had a wide circle of friends and will be remembered for her sense of humor. She was preceded in death by her parents, both of her brothers; Fritz and Truman, and her husband of 46 years, Dick. Surviving her is her son, Rolf Richard Gilberg of Dallas TX, grandchildren; Matthew Richard and Paige Marisa of Dallas, TX and Dylan Michael of Orlando, FL Visitation:     One hour prior to the service at the church Service:   2 p.m. Tuesday at Grace United Methodist Church in Fergus Falls Clergy:    Reverend Robert Kandels Interment:     Oak Grove Cemetery in Fergus Falls Funeral Home: Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls
