Owen Randklev

January 28, 1945 — May 22, 2009

Owen C. Randklev “Uncle O”, 64, of Fergus Falls, died Friday, May 22, 2009, at the University of Minnesota Fairview Hospital.  Owen was born on January 28, 1945 in Fergus Falls, the son of Orville and Hazel (Engelson) Randklev. He grew up and attended school in Fergus Falls. On February 24, 1968, he married Joyce Hanson at Augustana Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. Through the years, Owen worked at Ernie’s Foods, Fergus Rendering/Bi-Products and Dean’s Excavating.   Owen spent the majority of his time doing what he loved best, helping others. He was the family designated driver, getting people to appointments and helping run errands. He was always on call for family and friends, whether it was taking someone to the airport, being someone’s handyman, snowblowing people’s driveways or just being there when someone needed help. He was everyone’s “Go to Guy”. He also spent time taking care of his in-laws.  Owen was a member of Augustana Lutheran church, past member of the Eagles and a regular with the McDonald’s coffee bunch. He enjoyed woodworking, travelling, especially road trips, telling stories, watching old time Western movies, and horses. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his nieces and nephews, whom he loved very much. Preceding him in death were his parents. Survivors include his wife, Joyce of Fergus Falls; siblings, Gary (Kathy) Randklev of Barnesville, Dick (Judith) Randklev of Minot, N. D., Linda Randklev of Hankinson, N.D., Cindy (Vance) Fonken of Fergus Falls, Susie O’Meara of Mariana, AZ, Tim (Mary) Randklev of Chaska, MN and Tom (Alene) Randklev of Tucson, AZ. A special mention to Norman and Alice Hanson family, his many nieces and nephews, all his friends and his special “little buddies” Wyatt and Payton.
