Orman O'Meara

Orman P. O’Meara, 85, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Thursday, December 25, 2008 at the Broen Memorial Home. He was born October 12, 1923, in Hankinson, North Dakota, the son of Edward and Margaret (Holtz) O’Meara. He grew up near Hankinson, was baptized and confirmed in Hankinson and attended country school. He married Mary Keller. In 1969, he married Alma Hoefs at Trinity Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls. Orman was employed at Grain Elevators in Tintah and Doran and Harvest States Elevator in Fergus Falls, as a grain buyer. He was also a volunteer firefighter in Tintah. Orman was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, served as an elder and usher and was on the cemetery board for numerous years. He also volunteered with AA in Fergus Falls. Preceding him in death were his parents; a sister, Delores Lundberg; two brothers, Wilber and James and a son-in-law, Dennis Blow. Survivors include his wife, Alma; a son, Larry (Lois) of West Fargo, ND; two daughters, Edith Blow of North Carolina and LuAnn (Jeff) Bullis of Apple Valley; a stepson, Don (Darlene) Reiter of Fergus Falls; a sister, Mildred Mahler of South St. Paul; a brother, John (Mary) O’Meara of Jamestown, ND; a brother-in-law, Ray Lundberg; two sisters-in-law, Darlene O’Meara and Gertrude O’Meara, along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
