Olive Christine Swenson (nee Hanson) of Fergus Falls, died on August 8, 2008 at the age of 91. She was born December 20, 1916 at Browns Valley, Minnesota to Emil and Agnes (Stevens) Hanson. She grew up at the Dayton Hallow Dam and attended school at District 30 and Fergus Falls High School. She was a homemaker and was employed at Barkey’s Lodge, and the Ottertail Nursing Home On September 18, 1940, she married Richard C. Swenson (after they had dated for 6 years). The couple farmed at Hoffman and Battle Lake. In 1979 they retired and were able to spend many winters in Arizona. They remained on their Battle Lake farm until 1994 when they moved to Park Rapids. They returned to Fergus Falls in 2001. She enjoyed gardening, making quilts and toys, and playing cards. She was a loving wife and mother and will be missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Agnes Hanson; three sisters, Ethel (Ray) Loomer, Dorthea (Bud) Furgeson, and Audry (Elmer) Johnson; and two brothers, Carroll (Joan) Hanson and Aldor (Gen) Hanson. She is survived by her husband of 67 ½ years, Richard; sons: Timothy (Carol), Russel (Maxine), Rodney (Karmen), and Jeffrey (Cindy); and daughters: Diane (Bill) King, Faith (Jim) Reusch, and Shelley (Gary) Schott; 14 Grandchildren, 22 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
