Olga “Ollie” Hovland, 91, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Friday, September 12, 2008, at the Pioneer Retirement Community in Fergus Falls.  She was born December 19, 1916, in Rothsay, Minnesota, the daughter of Ottin and Clara (Hanson) Trosvig. She graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1935. On October 12, 1946, she married Joseph “Joe” Hovland at First Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. She worked as the secretary at the Otter Tail County Assessors Office for over 40 years. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was also a member of the Firefighters Ladies Group. Ollie and Joe loved traveling and camping – especially out West to places like Yellowstone, Alaska, and other national parks. They belonged to a camping club and enjoyed traveling to their national conventions. She also enjoyed bowling on the Ten Pin Bowling League. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Joe on May 14, 1998; three sisters, Florence Davenport, Ellen Gudding, and Beverly Dewey; and two brothers, Kenneth Pete Trosvig and Clarence Trosvig. Survivors include her brother, Roy (Ruth) Trosvig of Minneapolis; her sister, Hazel Stevenson of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and a sister-in-law, Marcie Trosvig of Fergus Falls; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
