Norman Harris Feay, 90, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Monday, October 21, 2013, at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Fergus Falls.
He was born August 10, 1923 at Lane, South Dakota, the son of George and Esther (Harris) Feay. His early years were spent in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The family later moved to Alexandria, Minnesota where he graduated from high school in 1941.
Norman served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1943 to 1946. Following his discharge he moved to Moorhead, Minnesota, where he worked in real estate for 32 years. During this time he served as president of the Fargo-Moorhead Board of Realtors.
In 1974 he was united in marriage to Vivian Blair. They bought a motel in Mayville, North Dakota in 1979, which they operated until 1984. At that time they moved back to the Fargo-Moorhead area, and in 1989 retired to Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, where he was employed with Norseman Motors for three years. He entered the Veterans Home in Fergus Falls in July of 2008.
He was a member of the American Legion and a prior member of the Elks Lodge, VFW, and the Ox Bow and Moorhead Country Clubs.
Survivors include his wife, Vivian of Fergus Falls; four daughters: Laurie (Ken) Wilkowski, Colleen (Bill) Gass, Bonnie Lunzer, and Pamela (Larry) Kappel; and several grandchildren.
Memorial Service: 1 p.m. Friday, October 25, 2013 at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Fergus Falls.
