Norman “Stormin’ Norman” Everson, 49, a resident of rural Underwood, died Thursday, August 7, 2008, near Underwood, Minnesota as the result of a motorcycle accident. He was born March 5, 1959, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the son of Oliver and Lucille (Peterson) Everson. He attended school in Fergus Falls, graduating from Fergus Falls High School in 1977. He then attended North Dakota State College of Science, graduating with a Small Engine Mechanics degree in 1979. Norman was employed over the years at small engine repair shops in several different areas, as well as at the Pioneer Home, Lakes Home, and the Minnesota Veterans Home in Fergus Falls, and at White Oak Metals in Dalton. On February 14, 1999, he married the love of his life, Karen and they combined their families, including four children, Joshua, Jessica and Justin Everson, and Melissa Garcia, and three grandchildren, Aiden Everson, and Rhiannon and Jazmine Garcia. Norman enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycling, and helping Grandpa and Grandma Peterson at the farm. He was confirmed at Tonseth Lutheran Church and was currently attending First Church of the Nazarene in Fergus Falls. Preceding him in death were his father, Oliver Everson; a brother, Jeffrey D. Everson; his friend and stepfather, George Eckhardt; his grandparents, Sankey and Alma Peterson; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Survivors include his wife and soulmate, Karen (Bjerkness) Everson of rural Underwood; four children: Joshua, Jessica, and Justin Everson, and Melissa Garcia; three grandchildren: Aiden Everson, and Rhiannon and Jazmine Garcia; his mother, Lucille Eckhardt of Fergus Falls, and a sister, Barbara Holl of Lexington, Kentucky.
