Norma Constance Aasness, 94, a resident of Breckenridge, MN, died Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at CHI St. Francis Health in Breckenridge, MN.
She was born on January 16, 1924, to Calvin and Josie (Ledum) Olson in Elbow Lake, MN. Norma attended school in Fergus Falls.
In February of 1942, Norma married Orwell Aasness in Rosholt, South Dakota. Norma worked as a homemaker, as well as farming alongside her husband. She also worked nights as a cook.
Norma was a member of Stiklestad and Calvary Lutheran churches, the Ladies Aid, and Homemakers.
Norma enjoyed fishing, baking, reading the paper, ‘The Price Is Right’, ‘Wheel of Fortune’, the news, and the Minnesota Twins.
Preceding her in death was her daughter, Ona Aasness Fogelman; husband, Orwell Aasness on May 12, 1982; stillborn son, Daniel Mark Aasness; brothers, Claire Olson, Lyle Olson; and sister-in-law, Betty Olson.
Survivors include her daughter, Janet (Gary) Skramstad of Lisbon, ND; grandchildren, Sarah (David) Nelson of Badger, MN, Steven (Lynnette) Skramstad of Bloomington, MN, Susanna (Shane) Schlecht of Enderlin, ND; great-grandchildren, Josiah (Tyler), Rachel, Samuel, Benjamin, Esther and Micah Nelson, Hannah, Zachary, Grace, and Olivia Skramstad, Nolan and Wyatt Schlecht; and sister-in-law, Carol Olson of Alexandria.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church
Service: 2 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2018, at Calvary Free Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls, MN
Clergy: Reverend David Nelson
Interment: Stiklestad Cemetery, rural Doran, MN
