Neil Milo Thompson

June 27, 1922 — June 6, 2013

Neil Milo Thompson, 90, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls.

He was born June 27, 1922, in Dalton, Minnesota, the son of Conrad and Lizzie (Clauson) Thompson. He graduated from the Fergus Falls High School. He then served in the U. S. Army Air Corps for three years during World War II, stationed in England and Africa. He received the Good Conduct medal for his service.

Following his time in the service he attended college at Moorhead State, St. Cloud State, and Bemidji State Colleges. He then was employed over the years as a draftsman at Honeywell in Minneapolis, Boeing Aircraft in Seattle, and at Big Delta Air Base in Alaska, among other companies, and with his brother, K.R. Thompson in compiling county atlases. He later was the maintenance supervisor for River Bend Apartments in Fergus Falls.

Milo was a member of the VFW and American Legion. He enjoyed drawing, and also computer science and the internet.

Preceding him in death were his parents, a sister, Ethel Cowan, and two brothers-in-law, Horace Moody and Boyd Cowan.

Survivors include a brother, Kenneth Roger Thompson of Underwood, a sister, Dorothy Moody of Fergus Falls, and nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013, at the Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls, with a time of sharing and fellowship preceding the service from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Fort Snelling Cemetery in Minneapolis. The Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls is in charge of the arrangements.
