Nancy Elene Hanson, 69, of Fergus Falls, died Saturday, June 05, 2010, at the Lake Region Hospital. She was born August 13, 1940, in Seattle, Washington, the daughter of Christopher and Louise (Swift) O’Leary. She grew up in Seattle, where she attended school. She later moved to southern California where she raised three children. She lived and worked in Oregon for a time before moving to Fergus Falls in 1985. On September 26, 1989, she married Marvin Hanson in Sisseton, South Dakota and they continued to live in Fergus Falls. Nancy waited tables at area restaurants, worked as a home health aid for Otter Tail County and was a volunteer at the Good Will Store and at Some Place Safe. She loved being in the sun and enjoyed her pets, especially her dogs Bingo and Katie. Her children and grandchildren were important to her. Preceding her in death were her parents and a granddaughter, Danielle. Survivors include her husband, Marvin; three children, Christine (Dean) Dennis of Sarasota, Florida, Traci Russell of Arizona and Alan Rucker of Chicago, Illinois; two stepchildren, Angela (Wes) Ballensky of Fischers, Indiana and Scott (Dawn) Hanson of Moorhead; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one brother, Richard (Connie) O’Leary of Vancouver, Washington.
