Myla Burkhardsmeier, 77, the resident of Fergus Falls, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 10, 2024 at the Pioneer Care Center under the care of hospice.
Myla Lynn (Kramer) Burkhardsmeier was born April 3, 1946 to Ralph and Mary (Lueck) Kramer in Minot, North Dakota. She spent most of her growing up years attending school in Denbigh, North Dakota and graduating from Minot High School in 1964. Myla married Gary Burkhardsmeier the following September and they had four children together.
Myla was a kind and generous woman who loved to laugh and spend time with family. One of her greatest joys in life was to be used by her Heavenly Father to give words of encouragement and prayer for others. She would give anything she had at the drop of a hat and celebrated every achievement of her family.
One of her favorite pastimes was finding bargains at garage sales or shopping in stores. She was a whiz at putting on rummage sales and enjoying the people who came to them. She attended cosmetology school in Rugby, North Dakota, and in addition to that worked as an adult care provider for the developmentally disabled. Myla retired from her job due to disabilities and subsequent memory loss kept her confined in her later years.
She is survived by her children, Kevin (Joan) Burkhardsmeier, of Fergus Falls, Minnesota and Kristie Burkhardsmeier of Augusta, Maine; seven grandchildren, Joshua (Mary) Novak, Hannah (Chris)Wagner, Matti (Jack) Wangerin, Michael Novak, Amanda Novak, Josiah (Sarah) Burkhardsmeier, and Gabrielle Burkhardsmeier; 17 great grandchildren, Oliver, Eli, Toby, Nick, Wesley, Finneas, Phillip, Kiaya, Mila, Elizabeth, Katya, Felicity, Charlie, Ivy, Artem, and Annie; brothers, Arland (Clo) Kramer and Randy Kramer, and nephews Ralph and Jason (Candace) Kramer.
Myla was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ronnie, and two infant children, David and Michael.
A small family Memorial service is pending for May in Granville, North Dakota where she will be laid to rest near family.
