Murray Myron Meyer, 70, of Dent, died Tuesday, October 5, 2010, at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis. He was born February 26, 1940, in Perham, Minnesota, the son of Alfred J. and Yenoette B. (Wagner) Meyer. He grew up in the Dent area, graduating from Fergus Falls High School in 1958. He then attended the State School of Science in Wahpeton, where he completed a degree in Accounting. On February 11, 1961, he married Joyce Swanson at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Fergus Falls. They lived in Jamestown from 1966 to 1987, where he worked for Montgomery Ward and Montana Dakota Utilities. They returned to the area in 1987, at which time they built their home on Dead Lake. Murray worked in sales at Olson Furniture in Fergus Falls until his retirement in 2002. He enjoyed the lake, following the Minnesota Twins and Vikings, and especially spending time with his family. He was an active member of St. James Catholic Church. Preceding him in death were his parents, and a brother, Bruce. Survivors include his wife, Joyce, of Dent; two sons: Jay (Jeannine) Meyer of Minneapolis, and Blaine Meyer of Dent; a brother, Todd (Martha) Meyer of Garland, Texas; three grandchildren: Jessica, Marie and Jaimee; one great-granddaughter, Adriana; a sister-in-law, Shirley Meyer of Fergus Falls; along with numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.
