Mr. Holst

Leslie Holst, 85, died Sunday, December 23, 2007, at the Pioneer Retirement Community, Fergus Falls. He was born July 22, 1922, to Otto and Gena (Larson) Holst, on a farm near Sisseton, SD. His father died when he was six years old. When he finished eighth grade in Bossko Township, SD, he took over the family farm. He farmed until 1970 when he moved to Fergus Falls where he worked for the Fergus Mill raising turkeys, retiring in 1988. On June 29, 1958, he married Lorraine Olson at Zion Lutheran Church, rural Veblen, SD. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls and a former member of Zion Lutheran in Veblen, SD. Preceding him in death were his parents; three brothers, Ralph, Oscar and George; an infant sister, Thea and an infant son, Leslie Robert. Survivors include his wife, Lorraine, of Fergus Falls; a son, Loren of Fergus Falls; brothers-in-law, Jerry (Donna) Olson and Glen (Loni) Olson all of Rapid City, SD, along with several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
