Mildred Johnson

Mildred Delia (Mrs. Wallace) Johnson, 84, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Friday, April 3, 2009 at the Broen Memorial Home in Fergus Falls. She was born October 13, 1924 at the family farm at rural Hawley, the daughter of Albert L. and Hilda (Anderson) Johnson. She grew up on the farm and graduated from Hawley High School. After attending business college she worked in the office of the Hawley Creamery, and later at Cass-Clay Creamery and Carlson Frink Dairy in Denver, Colorado. On May 21, 1955 she married Wallace R. Johnson at Eksjo Lutheran Church in Lake Park, Minnesota. The couple moved to Fergus Falls, Minnesota where she worked with her husband, who was a certified public accountant. She enjoyed her work, especially meeting people in a large part of Minnesota.  Mildred especially enjoyed summers spent at their seasonal home on Wall Lake, and their fall vacation trips. She has been a member of Augustana Lutheran Church since moving to Fergus Falls. Preceding her in death were her parents, and her brother, Lloyd. Survivors include her husband, Wallace, of Fergus Falls; a sister, Inez and her husband, Lloyd Pearson and a niece, Diane Pearson, all of rural Hitterdal, Minnesota.
