Mildred A. Hansen, 88, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Friday, December 1, 2017 at Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls.
Mildred was born on June 1, 1929 in Fergus Falls, the daughter of Melvin and Alma (Sander) Danielson. She was baptized in Fergus Falls and confirmed at Swan Lake Lutheran Church, rural Fergus Falls. She attended school in Fergus Falls and then worked for various families in the area, staying close to home so she could help raise her younger siblings.
On June 5, 1952 she married Robert Hansen in Fergus Falls. The couple made their home on the Hansen dairy farm in Bradford Township, rural Doran. After Robert’s death in 1997, she relocated to Fergus Falls in July of 1999.
She was a member of Vukku Lutheran Church and through the years she taught Sunday School. For several years Mildred and Robert also served as advisors for Luther League.
She enjoyed crocheting afghans, and was a Twins baseball and NDSU football fan. She also loved being a godmother to 10 children.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Robert; brothers-in-law, Edward Funfar and Maynard Herigstad.
Survivors include her brother, Harold (Marlys) Danielson of Fargo, ND; sisters, Helen Funfar of Enumclaw, WA, Ethel Danielson of Fergus Falls, Arlene Herigstad of Minot, ND, and Harriet (Gayland) Fronning of Dalton. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins and extended family.
