Michelle Kristine Taylor

June 21, 1975 — September 18, 2019

Michelle Kristine Taylor, age 44, entered into her eternal home on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Rochester, Minnesota. She was born June 21, 1975 in Augsburg, Germany to her parents, Norman and Lois Thomsen. She attended Volkshule (elementary school), in Neumarkt, Germany and Innsbruck, Austria during the years she lived in Europe with her family, where her parents pastored German and Austrian Evangelical churches.
Upon returning with her family to the States in 1991, she finished high school in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota and attended MSUM in Moorhead, Minnesota. The Lord blessed her with two sons, Quinton and Monte, who were the joy of her life. She loved her youngest son’s artistic ability and never missed a football or Rugby game when her oldest son was playing. In addition, she loved being “Tante Michelle” (Auntie) and spending time with her seven nieces and nephews!
It was during her years in Germany and Austria, she discovered a lifelong passion—knitting! Her skills started in German elementary school, but were greatly improved through her own self-taught efforts. She loved gifting her family and friends with beautiful sweaters, hats, scarves and shawls. Later, her knitting passion became more than a hobby. She had the privilege of teaching knitting skills at Community Ed classes in the Fargo Moorhead area and classes at Bouclè, a yarn shop on Main Avenue in Fargo, where she later became manager. Many of her students and customers became her life-long friends.
Michelle began her faith journey as a child, when she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. She loved to help others, especially those facing similar challenges as single parents. But it was her courageous perseverance as she faced tough and painful health challenges, especially during her last three years that revealed her faith the most to those who knew and loved her. She was called to her heavenly home on Wednesday evening, September 18, 2019. Surrounded by her family, she entered the peaceful presence of her Savior. Though missed greatly, her family and friends celebrate the beautiful and complete healing she is now experiencing, graciously granted to her by her Heavenly Father!

Her family is very grateful to nurses, doctors and medical staff at Sanford in Fargo and St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester as well as at the Broen Home in Fergus Falls, Minnesota for countless hours of giving their best skills and heart felt care to help our daughter!
She will be truly missed by her two sons, Quinton and Monte Taylor, Moorhead, Minnesota, her parents, Norman and Lois Thomsen, Fergus Falls, Minnesota, her sister, Melodie (Dale) Zimmerman of Bismarck, ND, her brother, Mark (Zhiqiu) Thomsen of St. Paul, Minnesota and younger brother, Michael Thomsen, Fergus Falls, Minnesota. Nieces: Nikki Zimmerman, Dani Zimmerman, Bella Zimmerman, and Mingmay Thomsen as well as nephews: Derek Zimmerman, Eli Thomsen and great-nephew, Easton Zimmerman. Also, many cousins, uncles, aunts and dear friends.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Verner and Palma Berglund, formerly of Fergus Falls, Minnesota and Rudy and Evelyn Thomsen, formerly of Valley City, ND and uncle, Joel Berglund, formerly of San Diego, California.
