Maxine “Maggie” M. Jeffries, 87, a resident of Underwood, died Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls.
She was born June 2, 1927 in Lansing, MI to Marion and Ione (Hummel) Adams. Maggie grew up and attended school in Lansing, MI.
Maggie married Lee Losinger in 1945 and to this union two sons were born. On September 19, 1991 she was united in marriage to Robert Jeffries in Waterloo, IA.
She worked at Michigan Bell and then as a switchboard operator for the Michigan State Legislature. Maggie continued on and was an office manager at Michigan Triple A Insurance, retiring in 1991, to move to Iowa.
Maggie loved gardening, craftwork and cooking. She was always trying new recipes. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Preceding her in death were her parents and a sister, Bernie.
She is survived by her husband, Robert of Underwood; two sons, Randy Losinger of Laingsburg, MI, Kurt Losinger of Laingsburg, MI; two step-sons, Dennis (Deb) Jeffries of Waterloo, IA, Tony Jeffries of Detroit, Oregon; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three siblings, Bernard, Darlene and Charlene.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Waterloo, IA.
