MaryAnn Andert

MaryAnn Andert, 81, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Friday, December 23, 2011, at the Broen Memorial Home in Fergus Falls. MaryAnn was born on August 31, 1930, in Fergus Falls, the daughter of Melvin and Edna (Hoffmann) Piepho Sr. She grew up and attended school in Fergus Falls. On May 9, 1948, she married Einar Olson in Fergus Falls. He died in February of 1967. She then married Audrew Andert on November 26, 1977, in Fergus Falls, he died in 1986. Through the years, MaryAnn worked as the secretary for Augustana Lutheran church, at the Broen Memorial Home as the Activities Director and at the Fergus Falls Middle School in the library. She also volunteered at Lake Region Hospital, Pioneer Retirement Community and the American Cancer Society. MaryAnn was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls and also the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed knitting, Bible Study, reading, visiting with friends and family, was a Sunday School teacher and part of the prayer shawl ministry. Preceding her in death were her parents; two husbands and a brother, Melvin Jr. Survivors include her children, Miles (Linda) Olson of Loogootee, IN, Barbara (Michael) Meuers and Kari (Kenneth Jr.) Howe all of Bemidji; grandchildren Erin Marie Jabs of St. Cloud, Nathaniel “Nate” Weossner of Moorhead,step-grandsons Matthew Howe of Palm Desert, CA and Mitchell Howe of Bemidji; several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; a brother, Marvin Piepho of Coon Rapids; a sister, Donna (John) Kruchten of Coon Rapids and a sister-in-law, Joyce Piepho of Colorado Springs, CO. Memorials are preferred to Augustana Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls, the American Cancer Society or Lakeland Hospice. Memorial Service 11 am Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Augustana Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls Clergy Reverend Phil Tobin and Chaplain Ken Austin Interment Oak Grove Cemetery, Fergus Falls Funeral Home Olson Funeral Home, Fergus Falls
