Mary Ellen Lemmon, 66, of Fergus Falls, died Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at her residence.
She was born June 15, 1953 to Loren and Irene (Miner) Lemmon in Detroit Lakes. She attended school in Detroit Lakes. She grew up on the family farm and loved swimming at their lake cottage. She was an avid Twins and Vikings fan and enjoyed playing cards with her extended family. Mary Ellen was also active in the Becker County 4-H. She graduated from Detroit Lakes High School in 1972.
Later Mary moved to Fergus Falls to work at Productive Alternatives whose wonderful staff provided the structure she needed. She loved working in the sheltered work shop as well as in the community. Mary lived in several adult foster homes who were very supportive of her. Bowling became a special activity for her and she loved traveling which was made possible for her by Linda Dewey. As Mary’s health declined, the Synstelien Community became a very caring home for her.
Mary is preceded in death by her father, Loren; mother, Irene, and nephew James Lemmon.
She is survived by her brothers, Duane (Marcella) Lemmon of Detroit Lakes and Norman (Kay) Lemmon of Cedar Falls, IA; a nephew; nieces and several cousins.
