Marvin Oyos

Marvin Oyos, 86, of Fergus Falls, died Friday, October 14, 2022, at the MN Veteran’s Home in Fergus Falls surrounded by his loving family.

Marvin was born September 19, 1936 in Langdon, ND to Alvin and Martha (Galason) Oyos. He was baptized and confirmed at Zoar Lutheran Church in Hampden, ND. He attended school through the eighth grade and left to help his father farm.

He was a member of the United States Navy for two years, stationed in San Francisco, CA.
Marvin married the love of his life, Connie Henderson September 30, 1961 in Calvin, ND. They were married 61 years and blessed with two children.

Marvin was the store manager at ACE Hardware for 10 years and Hardware Hank for 28 years in Circle Pines, MN. Marvin retired in 1998 and moved to Vining. They were there for 18 years until Marv was hurt and then they moved to Fergus Falls. Marvin moved into the MN Veteran’s Home in 2019.

Marvin was a member of Vining Lutheran Church. He enjoyed golf, hunting, watching Gopher football, jig-saw puzzles, and card games.

Marv loved and cherished his whole family.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Alvin and Martha Oyos; sisters, Yvonne Oyos and Marilyn Braathen; father and mother-in-law, Garvin and Dorothy Henderson; brothers-in-law, Peter Schuler, Everett Henderson, and Gilman Anderson; niece, Lisa Schuler, and nephews, Todd Kempel and Chad Kempel.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Constance of Fergus Falls; children, Kris (Greg) Schonauer of Fergus Falls and Dan (Sandy) Oyos of Pine City; grandchildren, Tom (Nicole) Schonauer, Katelyn (Michael) Bolz, Kylee (Joey) Gaustad, and Allison (Nick) Oyos; great-grandchildren, Alexys Bolz, Jordyn Halstad, Drake Schonauer, and Jaxton Schonauer, and siblings, Faye (Tom) Wermerskirchen and Keith (Barb) Oyos.

Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 21, 2022 at Vining Lutheran Church in Vining, with visitation one-hour prior to the service.
