Marvin Stanley Kullhem, 94, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at PioneerCare in Fergus Falls.
He was born on August 15, 1923, to Andrew and Alice (Bloomquist) Kullhem in Palisade, MN. Marvin graduated from Aitkin High School in 1942. On March 1, 1952, Marvin married Irene L. Bakeman in Fergus Falls.
Marvin worked on the family farm near Palisade. He did construction, home improvement jobs (remodeling), and worked for a short time at Swedberg Nursery. Marvin retired in 1987, after 35 years with Mid-Am Dairy.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran church in Fergus Falls. He enjoyed working with his hands, especially doing carpentry. Marvin loved to do puzzles, enjoyed reading Louie L’Amoure novels, spending Mondays eating meatballs at the Viking Café, and hiking with his friend, Eleanor and their dog, Spike.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Andrew and Alice Kullhem; siblings, Violet, Russell, and Lawrence; his ex-wife Irene and his friend Eleanor Johnson.
Survivors include his children, Sharyl (Rick) Sletten of Fergus Falls, Wesley (Jane) Kullhem of Littleton, CO, Loren (LaDonna) Kullhem of Austin, TX; grandchildren, Neil Sletten, Dena Sletten, Shanna (Michael) Lund, Jeremy (Jessica) Kullhem, Britney Kullhem, Ian Kullhem, Seth Kullhem; great-grandchildren, Layla and Lindy; a brother, Charles of Aitkin; and a sister-in-law, Violet Kullhem of Bemidji.
Visitation: one hour prior to the service at the funeral home
Service: 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the Olson Funeral Home, Fergus Falls
Clergy: Rev. Christopher Eldredge
Interment: private family burial at a later date
