Marvin Sylvester Bolstad, 63, a resident of rural Dalton, died Wednesday, January 26, 2011, at his home. He was born September 24, 1947, on the family farm in Tumuli Township, near Dalton, Minnesota, the son of Morris and Selma (Brandvold) Bolstad. He grew up on the farm, and attended country school. Marvin was employed as a carpenter doing construction work. On May 1, 1976, he married Mary McCormack in Dalton. To this union two children were born, Becky and Chad. Marvin enjoyed going to auction sales with his great niece, Casey, hunting, helping anybody that needed help, and working on his hobby farm with his animals. He always enjoyed his Sunday dinners with his family, and especially being with his grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents; two sisters, Elaine Logan and Doris Danielson; a brother, Charles Aasberg; three brothers-in-law, Lynwood Johnson, Chester Danielson, and Dean Phillips; and a nephew, Bobby Spenst. Survivors include his wife, Mary, of Dalton; two children: Becky (Jason) Lee of Elbow Lake, and Chad (Jackie) Bolstad of Brandon; two grandchildren, Addison Lee and Kaden Bolstad; and three sisters, Virginia Johnson and Donna Johnson, both of Fergus Falls, and Sylvia Phillips of Wendell.
