Martha Schultz, age 94, of Fergus Falls, died Sunday, March 27, 2016, at PioneerCare in Fergus Falls.
Martha was born on December 10, 1921, to Peter and Nora (Burgess) Wumkes in Carrington, ND. She attended school in Sykeston, ND. In 1945, Martha graduated from St. Luke’s Nursing School in Fargo, ND.
On January 7, 1947, she married Duane A. Schultz in Minneapolis. Together they raised their four children. Martha enjoyed her many hours of service as a volunteer for the Red Cross Blood Mobile.
Martha was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, and caring for her home and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Nora Wumkes; her husband, Duane Schultz; and three brothers.
Martha is survived by her four children, Lynda Schultz of Madison, WI, Nancy (Roy Cato) Schultz of Minneapolis, Rodney (Diane) Schultz of Eugene, OR, and Jeffrey (fiancé, Susan Figge) Schultz of Fergus Falls; six grandchildren, Adam Dunn, Julie Dunn, Elizabeth Schultz, Zeke Cato, Jake Schultz and Jesse Schultz; two sisters, Dorothy Larhen of Fargo, ND, and Della Johnson of Tuscon, AZ; a brother, Robert Wumkes of Fargo, ND; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A private family burial will be held at a later date at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Ottertail, MN.
