Marlys Ann Lemke, 80, a resident of Elizabeth, died Friday, February 22, 2019, at home, under the care of LB Hospice.
Marlys was born September 15, 1938, to Donald and Irene (Martinson) Wilde in Fergus Falls, MN. She graduated from Fergus Falls High School with the Class of 1956; following graduation she worked at Otter Tail County Social Services. On May 5, 1959, Marlys and Jerald Lemke were united in marriage in Webster, South Dakota. She then resided for a year in Germany while Jerald was in the service. Upon her return home, she went back to work for Otter Tail County Social Services for close to 50 years doing a variety of jobs including, clerical, data processing, receptionist and case aide.
Marlys was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Elizabeth where she taught Sunday School. She enjoyed reading, spending time at the lake with family, and flower gardening.
Marlys was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Irene Wilde; husband, Jerald; mother and father in-law, Fritz and Marie Lemke; brothers-in-law, George Wedll, Mike Kiser, Byron Lemke, Cy Lynnes, LeRoy Halverson, Marvin Lemke; sister-in-law, Lucille Lemke, Avis Lemke, Eileen Halverson, LaVonne Lemke.
Marlys is survived by her children, Kimberly (Mike) Randolph of Flowery Branch, GA, Kevin (Marie) Lemke of Green Isle, Kerry (Renee) Lemke of Fergus Falls; grandchildren, Casey Lemke, Terri Jo Lemke, Corey Lemke, Harrison Holliday, Lauren Holliday, Michael Randolph, Kevin Randolph, Will Randolph, Taylor Lemke, Miranda Lemke (Aaron Paulson); great-granddaughters, Emma Lemke, Adalynn Paulson; sisters, Donna Samuelson, Jean Wedll, Susan Kiser, and brothers, Jack Wilde and Terry Wilde.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial Service: 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 2, 2019, at Olson Funeral Home Chapel, Fergus Falls, MN
Clergy: Reverend Craig Palach
Interment: St. John Cemetery, Elizabeth, Minnesota
