Marlene Jean Anderson, 75, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Friday, April 4, 2008 at Lake Region Hospital. Marlene was born on March 30, 1933 in Dawson, MN, the daughter of Clarence J. and Selma P. (Peterson) Johnson. She grew up in Dawson, later moved to Maynard, MN and settled in Pelican Rapids in 1943, where she attended school. After school she worked odd jobs before marrying Randolph Anderson on September 14, 1952 in Bismarck, ND. The couple lived in Detroit Lakes, where they owned and operated Randy's Place. In 1956, they moved to Montana and lived in Helena and Townsend. In September of 1971, they moved to Erhard, where they lived until Randolph died in 1993. Since Randolph's death, Marlene has resided with her twin sister, Marilyn. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking and garage sales. She will be remembered as a caring, gracious, nurturing and kind person with a quiet nature. Preceding her in death were her husband, Randolph; brother, Omar Johnson and a great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Rose. Survivors include one son, Gary Anderson of Underwood; two granddaughters, Melanie (Ron) Rieken of Erhard and Stacey Anderson of Fergus Falls; two great-granddaughters Rylee and Brinna Rieken; a twin sister, Marilyn Anderson of Fergus Falls; two nieces, Sandy (Jeff) Munsell, and Karen (Jim) Pixley, and a nephew Everett (Mary) Johnson.
