Mark Anthony Strader, age 52, of Fergus Falls, died Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. Mark was born on July 8, 1959 in Moorhead, Minnesota, the son of Michael W. and Myrtle A. (Grant) Strader. He graduated from Johnson Senior High School in St. Paul, and went on to St. Paul Technical College for welding. For most of his adult life he worked as a welder at Farmland Industries in St. Paul. More recently he moved to the Fergus Falls area and worked at ShoreMaster, Innova Industries, and Vinylite until his health would not allow him to work any longer. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mark was an avid reader and spent many hours watching sports. He also loved to spend time with ‘Patches’, his beloved cat. Preceding him in death were his parents. Mark is survived by his sisters: Kitty (Tom) Davis of Pelican Rapids, and Karleen (Rigo Grajalva) Strader of Fergus Falls; nephews: Kip, Kurt, Grant, and Rigo, Jr.; great nephews: Dante and Lukas; nieces: Tia and Kalissa; and great nieces: Ashley, Bryn, Payton and Piper. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and special friends including the Kenyon family, as well as his best buddy, ‘Patches’ the cat. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Tonseth Lutheran Church, rural Erhard, with Reverend Darrel Saathoff officiating. Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls is in charge of the arrangements.
