Mark Charles Moore, 51, a resident of Fergus Falls, MN, passed away unexpectedly, on Saturday, September 26, 2015, at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born August 19, 1964, in Breckenridge, MN, the son of Verel and Arlene (Dahl) Moore. Mark grew up on a family farm near Doran. He moved with his family to Underwood in 1975. Mark graduated from Underwood High School in 1982. He then attended the University of Minnesota Crookston, graduating with a degree in Diversified Agriculture. Throughout Mark’s schooling, he enjoyed working for area farmers, including several years on the Klaksvik Family Farm of Underwood.
On December 7, 1985, he married Susan Mark at Tordenskjold Free Lutheran Church, in rural Underwood. They lived in Elbow Lake and then moved to rural Wendell, where Mark was employed by Adam’s Seed Plant.
On June 27, 1994, Mark began what he considered a rewarding position with the Fergus Falls School District, as a custodian at McKinley and later becoming head custodian at Adam’s School. He took pride in his job and it showed by all the lives he touched. He enjoyed playing harmless tricks on his family, friends and co-workers and was notorious for always keeping everyone on their toes. Mark was a hard worker and a farmer at heart. He looked forward to the days where he could lend a hand, helping others in need. Mark took delight in his garden and canning. He had a heart for giving to others by sharing his famous banana and zucchini bread. Mark loved the outdoors, hunting and doing yard work. He looked forward to camping with the Lundbys, which included secret ice cream trips. He also enjoyed western movies and reading Louis Lamoure books. Some of his favorite things were Schwan’s ice cream, pancakes, biscuits and gravy and peanut butter cookies.
He was a member of Tordenskjold Free Lutheran Church, where he served as youth advisor, Sunday school teacher, vacation bible school helper and Chairman of the board. He loved the Lord and it was evident in how he carried out his life sharing his faith openly with anyone he came in contact with. He continued to grow in his faith by having devotion, prayer and participating in Adult Bible study.
Words cannot express the devotion and love he shared for his wife, children, family and friends. He enjoyed spending quality time with others by making them feel special and loved. One of Mark’s greatest joys was watching his daughters participate in school activities and sports, along with being their number one supporter and encourager. On April 21, 2014, he became a grandpa and was so proud of being called “papa”. His granddaughter held a special place in his heart and they shared a bond unlike no other. Mark was eagerly awaiting the arrival of his second grandchild in a few weeks.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents: Thomas and Sophia Dahl and Ed and Lura Moore; mother-in-law, Constance Mark and step mother-in-law, Norita Mark; brother-in-law, Steve Mark; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and two great-nephews.
Survivors include his wife of twenty-nine years, Sue Moore Fergus Falls; daughters, Deveny (Mark) Vukonich and Whitney Moore, all of Fergus Falls; granddaughter, Evelina Vukonich and Baby Vukonich due on October 29, 2015; his parents, Verel and Arlene Moore of Millerville; siblings, Lori (Jim) Meissner of Brandon, Mona (Art) Matson of Naples, FL, Kirk (Kathleen) Moore of Brandon and Kelly (Ann) Moore of Underwood; father-in-law, Floyd Mark of Dalton; sisters-in-law, Vicki (Virgil) Evavold of Underwood, Sharon Mark of Underwood, Linda Rostad of Fergus Falls and Debbie (Brad) Odegard of Fargo, ND; brothers-in-law, Mike (Tammy) Mark of Underwood and Matthew (Christy) Mark of Underwood; along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and great-nephews.
