Marjorie Rosengren, 93, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Sunday, February 16, 2014 at PioneerCare in Fergus Falls.
Marjorie Helen Ludtke was born June 12, 1920 to Emil and Clara (Johnson) Ludtke in Morton Township, just outside of Webster, South Dakota. As an infant she moved with her family into Webster. She attended school in Webster and graduated in 1939. She then attended Aberdeen Teaching College in Aberdeen, South Dakota for 1 year and received a Teacher’s Certificate in 1940. She taught rural school in four different districts in the Webster area for four years.
On June 30, 1944 she married Mauritz Rosengren in Santa Cruz, California at his parent’s home.
She worked as an operator for Southern Bell Telephone until they moved to Seiling Oklahoma in 1945. In 1947, they settled in Webster and later divorced.
In the early 1950s, she owned and operated a woman’s dress store name The Style Shoppe. In 1961 she moved to Detroit Lakes and then to Fergus Falls in 1964. Marjorie worked a variety of jobs throughout the years. At the age of 73 she retired from the Pelican Turkey Plant in Pelican Rapids.
She was an active member of the Women’s Ministries at the Salvation Army. She also participated in the Senior Citizens.
Preceeding her in death were her parents; sister, Gladys Schlotte.
She is survived by her children; son, Michael (Nancy) Rosengren of Bakersville, CA; two daughters, Melanie Swanson of Fergus Falls, Jayne (Neil) Bond of Fergus Falls; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two nephews and their families.
Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Olson Funeral Home, Fergus Falls with prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Visitation continues 1 hour prior to service.
Service: 1 p.m. Friday, February 21, 2014 at PioneerCare Celebration Center, Fergus Falls
